“…the Society was founded by W B Yeats in London in 1892 and has been meeting since; we hold talks and events inviting a range of speakers including recently Marina Carr, Sebastian Barry, Martin Dyar, Edna O'Brien, Eavan Boland, Bernard MacLaverty, Roddy Doyle, Donal Ryan and a variety of other great talents. Our President is Bernard O’Donoghue who succeeded Seamus Heaney and our Vice President is the historian Roy Foster.”
